Attractions and Recreation

You'll find some of Oregon's most spectacular recreation, historical attractions and agricultural land in Clackamas County. With Mt. Hood and Portland as bookends, this area is where the Oregon Territory began at the end of the journey west.

The pioneers made Oregon their home and began a new life by farming this pristine and fertile land, a practice that continues today throughout the county. The land hasn't changed much, and the invitation is open to visit some of the finest flower farms, tree farms, produce markets and wineries in Oregon.

It's all here - including absolute escape! This urban landscape is hot with the arts, historical treasures and spectacular shopping. Take in a summer concert or plan a winter fireside vacation. There's the splendid outdoors, with plenty of rivers and lakes to swim, paddle around in and fish.

The beauty of Clackamas County, from the lush greenery to the abundant flowers will astound your senses and introduce tranquility that settles around your shoulders in a pleasant silence. Hike, camp, bike, ski; or just take it all in from the point of view of your choice.

Whatever your fancy; antique shopping, visiting historical landmarks, outdoors, nature at its best, social atmosphere or just getting away from it all; you're sure to find it in Clackamas County. This is a place where you'll want to "linger longer".
